- PARIDA KAPARA cotton fabric of very fine quality made in Assam. It is worn as a shawl or wrap by the upper classes only. Wide borders are woven in brocade designs - flowers, birds, or beautifully figured curved effects. Gold and silver threads are frequently used to emphasise some design feature. The cloth is of the fine muslin type and is woven on hand looms.
